Tobacco Settlement

• Arizona will receive about $177 million in "up front cash." Then annual payment growing from $59 million the 1st year to $118 million in 2018.

• Proposed usage:- $59 million of "up front money" for research (using the interest).

• $30 million for construction of the State Laboratory.

• $76 million for replacing Arizona State Hospital.

• $12 million to improve or construct Rural Health and Community Health Centers.

• Annual Payments = Research / Treatment / Education / Block Grants to Counties / Behavioral and Public Health Programs / Access to Care.
